WELCOME TO OPTOMETRY QUEENSLAND
NORTHERN TERRITORY

At Optometry Queensland Northern Territory (OQNT) we deliver a range of benefits to the optometry profession. All Australians deserve the best in primary eye health and vision care; and here at OQNT we work to support our members in providing that to all their patients.

We are a federated, not-for-profit organisation, and state division of Optometry Australia. Every state is governed by its own set of legislation that impacts the profession. It is our job to know this legislation and advocate to ensure optometry in QLD and NT continues to prosper and benefit all our members.

Our members benefit from our strong sector leadership, our expert clinical and practice management advice and support, and our member-only comprehensive professional development and networking opportunities.

Please contact our friendly team on (07) 3839 4411 to discuss the benefits of membership or for support today.

INITIATIVES

The Aligned Optometrist Program is an initiative of Optometry Queensland Northern Territory (OQNT).
The program is designed to offer a partnership between community optometrists and Queensland Health’s Hospital and Health Services (HHS’) ophthalmology services. The program will provide the guidelines and reporting templates to allow discharge pathways for patients who have been under the care of a HHS ophthalmology service for their primary ocular condition to be monitored and managed by community optometrists.

Australian Vision Convention (AVC) is delivered by Optometry Queensland Northern Territory annually on the sunny Gold Coast. This two-day weekend conference is open to Optometrist delegates from across Australia, New Zealand and beyond. Enjoy the varied clinical program with informative and topical lectures, hands-on workshops, breakfast lectures and exhibition area.

North Queensland Vision (NQV) is the second conference
delivered by Optometry Queensland Northern Territory annually
up north. This two-day weekend conference is open to
Optometrist delegates from across Australia, New Zealand, and beyond. Enjoy the laid-back atmosphere with a great clinical
program, trade display, and breakfast lectures.
