The virtual Brisbane Member hub will be hosted by Marissa Megaloconomos, OQLDNT President. This is a chance for us to provide an update, connect with local members and discuss what is happening in your region. You will receive a link to join the virtual member hub prior to the meeting. 

Herpetic Eye Disease Update

The meeting will also include 1 hour of  interactive and therapeutic CPD -  Herpetic Eye Disease Update presented by Dr Sing-Pey Chow. 


Dr Sing-Pey Chow


Dr Sing-Pey Chow is an Ophthalmologist with sub-specialty fellowship training in cornea, cataract and anterior segment diseases.

Dr Chow graduated from medical school at the University of Melbourne with Honours in 2006 before completing her Ophthalmology training at Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne.  She then completed another three years of sub-specialty training in corneal and anterior segment diseases at Bristol Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital in the UK, before returning to Australia via an observership at the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute, Columbia University in New York.

Dr Chow has published as first author in peer-reviewed journals such as Ophthalmology, Cornea and British Journal of Ophthalmology, and is a member of the Research Advisory Committee of the Ophthalmic Research Institute of Australia (ORIA). She has presented at many international conferences, including World Cornea Congress, American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) meetings, for which she was awarded an ARVO International Travel Grant.

Dr Chow is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) and a member of the Cornea Society. She enjoys teaching the next generation of ophthalmologists and sits on the RANZCO Board of Examiners for ophthalmology trainees. She has a public appointment at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and also works in private practice at North West Eye and Retina in Brisbane.

Outside of work, Dr Chow can often be found at various parks and playgrounds with her three young children.
